May 10, Brooklyn Bridge and Brooklyn NYC
Today was the day we were to meet Bronwyn at Pier 11 in New York, well we were given the wrong information by the clerk at the RV park, and the ferry we caught did not go to Pier 11, which is on the east side of Manhattan but the west side. We were then told just to follow the coast and we would get there. After walking 30 minutes we decided to ask for help. Well we asked the right person, he was a retired New York policeman and we will give him full marks. He went out of his way to walk us across town to Pier 11. There was Bronwyn waiting for us and wondering if we had taken a walk, yes we had, 40 minutes worth.
After getting our breath back and having something to drink, we set off to cross the Brooklyn Bridge and through Brooklyn Heights to Cobble Hill, where Bronwyn and Stephen live. Beautiful, interesting, intriging, exhausting walk but we can mark it down to another adventure we never thought we would do.
After a lovely dinner, Bronwyn drove us back to Pier 11 where we caught the 8.40pm ferry home. What a great day, hope we can get out of bed tomorrow, our total walk today was 12.97 km.
