May16, Plymouth Massachusetts
Today we visited Plymouth, took the RV to the nearest Walmart in Plymouth and then Ubered to the waterfront.
The first port of call was the Tourist Information Bureau to get the necessary maps and information. Of course on hearing our accent, it was," where 're from" when they heard SA, please sign our visitors book, and off he went to get a South African flag, hence the picture, we were the first South Africans to visit them and they had just had the first Kenyan , as well.
Off we went armed with the necessary guide book. Being so early in the season we were unable to get a cruise round the harbor, everything only starts up with the Memorial Day weekend, and by then we will be in Canada.
It is a very pretty, well kept little town. This is where the first English settlers landed in 1620. Unfortunately, the Mayflower II, which is a replica of the original Mayflower, was in dry dock for running repairs.
If we had had a car we could have done the trip to Cape Cod and even further to Provincetown, which is on the tip of Cape Cod, but we had a lovely day and headed back by Uber to our RV and then back to camp.
